For this high-profile restaurant located in the heart of Chinatown, we acted on behalf of the tenant, coordinating closely with the property owner, Shaftesbury Capital and CBRE, throughout the project lifecycle. We led the consultant team from project inception, establishing the client brief and overseeing the design and approval process through to completion.​

Our responsibilities included securing planning and Building Regulations approvals, developing detailed design specifications for contractor tendering, and administering the construction contract. This encompassed issuing interim payment certificates, conducting site inspections, monitoring progress, and managing the project through to practical completion.​

The restaurant occupies two floors and features a playful, vintage-inspired interior concept. Since opening, Kawan has garnered significant attention across social media platforms and quickly established itself as a popular dining destination, renowned for its innovative Malaysian-fusion cuisine. Its success has been reflected in the consistently long queues that have formed outside the restaurant since launch.
